Jesus Wept

The shortest verse ...
Jesus wept
~John 11:35
weep: to shed tears, especially as a sign of sorrow for somebody
Mary got up quickly when Martha told her that Jesus ("the teacher"), was there and calling for her. When she got to Him she fell at his feet and said,
Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died
Jesus saw her and those who followed behind her weeping and he was "deeply moved in spirit."
I believe he wept because he felt her pain. She believed he could and would heal her brother. She was full of hope, until all hope was lost when Lazarus died. She cried at the feet of Jesus.
I believe He felt sorrow for Mary's pain and grief even knowing in a little while she would be overjoyed. Even though her sorrow would be replaced with divine happiness. He wasn't dismissive of her suffering. He wept for the pain she had to experience in order for him to display God's glory.
It's comforting to know that Jesus cries with us, even knowing what joy is to come.
