You’re being developed
Updated: Sep 21, 2022
He is protecting you, he is hiding you from the enemy, even in your darkest hour He is with you. He sees you, he is not ignoring you. He’s hiding you to keep you safe until you are so strong that no weapon formed against you will win.
You’re not ready yet. You have some changes to make before you are in the light, before you are exposed. He wants you to be armed and prepared so when you are in the light nothing will be able to harm you.
If you are exposed in the light now, you will be underdeveloped and the portrait of you that others see will be nothing but darkness. They will not see you, or your testimony, they will see your weaknesses, and they will use them to hurt you. So he’s keeping you in the darkroom until you are ready.

He wants you to know…..
‘You’re almost ready child. Don’t give up now you are nearly there. One thing at a time.’
Ask him what step you need to take next.
Don’t be afraid, He is with you in the dark, He’s been there, in the middle of the night when you couldn’t sleep. He’s been teaching you and preparing you.
“Because the Lord kept vigil that night to bring them out of Egypt, on this night all the Israelites are to keep vigil to honor the Lord for the generations to come.” ~Exodus 12:42 NIV
This is bigger than you, this is for generations to come. For curses to be broken. I believe you are strong enough to keep being developed. No matter how dark it gets.
God never stops watching, not to judge us. No, He never stops watching so He can lead us, guide us and love us.
God created you in the light. But until you are ready to be the person you know is possible within you He is keeping you in the dark, to keep you safe. He doesn’t want what‘s coming for you to be lost.
He is keeping you hidden so you won’t step into your calling before you are ready. He is protecting you so you won’t be exposed before you are prepared for what is ahead.
Jesus walked on the water, in the dark, through the storm, and he never stopped watching his disciples as he walked towards them.
No, he didn’t tell them ahead of time what was going to happen. Because keeping them in the dark allowed his disciples to develop their faith and belief in him.
He amazed them with many miracles so there would be no doubt about who he is. That belief is what led them to share his message even after he was gone.
Maybe that’s what He’s doing for you. Letting you grow in your faith and belief, not only in Him, but also in yourself.
Make a list. What has He laid on your heart that you need to change within yourself before you are ready to be in the light? If you aren’t sure, ask Him.
Ask Him to give you an open heart that will not be defensive, but will be humble and honest. Write that list down, or put it in your phone. The things you have been nudged to do will continue to come until you make that change.
He does this because He loves you, because He wants you to be who He created you to be. He knows who you are, He knows who you will be once you put your confidence in Him, and have confidence in yourself.
Growth isn’t easy, it’s uncomfortable, and most of us, myself included, tend to resist the tension change inevitably brings. Maybe you want to run in the other direction. Maybe you want to avoid what hurts. You know something needs to change, what is the area of your life that needs a breakthrough?

When you want to fall back on your old habits, try something new. And ask yourself, ‘How has staying where I am helped me so far?’
A prayer for you if this touched your heart….
Please reveal the area of my life that I need to change so I can be who you created me to be. Please help me be open to change, and help me to understand that I can only change myself, and anyone else in my life will only change if they want to.
I want to be better, I want to heal, I want to have the blessings that you promise are possible when I believe in you. Thank you for loving me enough to sacrifice your son, forgive me for my failures, help me understand this current suffering.
Fill me with your Holy Spirit. Lead me and guide me on this new path. Protect me and those I love, bind the shadows that continue to hurt and hold us back from our purpose. In the name of your son Jesus of Nazarene and by his blood that was spilled for me I pray. Amen
